This Week in 1B

We enjoy reading independently or with our partners, then we discuss and teach all we know about our  nonfiction informational books!

We enjoy Partner Reading the MOST !!!!!!

In Guided Reading we get to write a reading response....

It's Money time in Math, sorting coins according to their values then work out the total.

We enjoy playing literacy games in class.

Our upcoming STEM activity sounds interesting! We are making twirlers.

A Week Packed With Action and Events

                                                         Awww!!! No recess........

Ms. Shuroug the Islamic teacher taught us prayers to say during the rain. We held our hands and prayed in silence.

Math is about numbers. How far can you count on the number grid? Some of us are already at 300! 

 

 It was a special occasion and we wanted to celebrate our friend's

birthday with a lovely card!

       

 The highlight of this week was of course THURSDAY!

This Week In 1B

In writing workshop we started work on our Table of Contents for our Informational chapter books. Our partners helped us make our chapter books the best they can be.


                                                           

                                                             

                                                                       

                    In reading we listen to our partner read, then asked questions to learn more.

                                Math is all about numbers and numbers and more numbers......

And some words too.....

Zoomers are really tricky but seeing Ms.Shah in action was awesome! She even made them make a strange sound!

Enjoying our spinners one last time..........

Social Studies was about new friends and we have many in grade 1B.

          Writing Teaching books 

Inspired by our class library, we plan (touching across all fingers), sketch, write then revise and edit,

our own teaching books. This week we learned to add twin sentences; day and night, wet and dry.

Classroom Library

In math, we learned about number stories, addition and subtraction, money and how to find out who has more? 

In STEAM, we wrote our observations on how to construct a spinner out of one red disk, one yellow disk and a shaft.

Ms. Cherry taught us more family names, like grand parents .....
